Summary
The Data Center Technical Specialist supports the Americas Data Center organization by performing first-pass technical review and preparation of data center quotations and technical requests. This role ensures valve schedules and technical inputs are complete, accurate, and clearly documented before review by Application Consultants (ACs), enabling faster turnaround times, reduced rework, and improved technical consistency across the data center business. The role operates as a key interface between Sales and the Applications team, improving input quality and supporting efficient execution of data center opportunities. This position directly reports to the Lead Regional Application Consultant - Data Centers Americas.
What You'll Do
- Perform first-pass technical review of incoming data center quotes and requests to ensure required inputs are complete and accurate.
- Normalize and clean valve schedules for consistency, completeness, and alignment with Belimo standards.
- Correct obvious product selection errors using established rules of thumb and standard data center application patterns.
- Clearly document technical assumptions, corrections, and remaining open questions for Application Consultant review.
- Prepare review-ready technical packages that allow ACs to focus on judgment calls and risk, not rework.
- Perform takeoffs from drawings and assist with BOM preparation as required.
- Apply a fix-and-flag approach when resolving issues, minimizing back-and-forth while maintaining technical clarity.
- Provide feedback to Sales and Inside Sales on recurring technical input issues to improve upstream quality.
- Participate in Application Consultant team meetings and maintain a regular review cadence with the Lead Application Consultant.
- Maintain light CRM or intake tracker updates related to technical review status and documentation
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field or equivalent technical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and valve schedules.
- Experience working with technical documentation, BOMs, or quote review processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Teams).
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred:
- Experience in HVAC, hydronics, controls, or data center–related applications.
- Prior exposure to technical sales support, applications engineering, or project engineering environments.

Belimo is committed to paying all employees in a fair, equitable and transparent manner. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 - $120,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 25% of an employee’s annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
