Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of purchased raw material or components supplied to Belimo by external vendors. This role involves evaluating, monitoring, and improving the quality of components or materials used in the development, manufacturing and customization processes, as well as evaluating, monitoring and improving the overall supplier performance in line with Belimo’s Strategy.   

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with other departments such as engineering, production, and purchasing to address quality concerns and implement improvements. Represent the Americas during Innovation projects supporting the Product Creation Process (PCP) while developing Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) for zero series and revision changes. Manage and coordinate regional Material Review Board (MRB) activities. 
  • Assess potential suppliers (within the Americas region) to ensure they meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and implement quality standards and processes (e.g., measurement strategies) for purchased materials that suppliers shall follow. This information will also be available for in-house verification procedures. 
  • Conduct scheduled audits of suppliers to ensure they adhere to agreed-upon quality standards and specifications. 
  • Address, via consultation with Purchasing, and resolve quality issues or defects in collaboration with suppliers to prevent future occurrences. 
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall supplier quality and efficiency including specification and drawing reviews that support the specific Supplier Quality Plan (SQP). 
  • Maintain accurate records and documents related to supplier quality, including inspection reports, corrective action plans, DFMEA/FMEA/PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate these risks. 
  • Provide training and guidance to both suppliers and in-house technicians on quality standards and expectations. 

Who You Are

  • Bachelors Degree required. Master’s degree in Engineering preferred, in an industrial manufacturing or related field a plus.
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment with focus on supporting product/process quality
  • Demonstrated high degree of data analysis skill
  • Proficient use of a personal computer, along with additional software products such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and cloud-based applications.
  • Required hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
  • Travel Requirement ~20% including foreign (EU, AP)

Belimo is committed to paying all employees in a fair, equitable and transparent manner. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 - $110,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 10% of an employee’s annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
