Development Engineer Mechanics (80-100%)

At Belimo, we develop innovative solutions that make buildings smarter, more energy-efficient, and more comfortable. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Domain Mechanical Engineering to drive the development of high-performance actuators and sensor components.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop mechanical components and modules for actuators, valves and sensors

• Translate system-level requirements into mechanical design specifications

• Create and document concept designs that balance performance, costs, quality and deadlines, taking into account production and assembly 

• Collaborate closely with electronics, systems, and sensor teams for integrated solutions

• Lead the mechanical engineering workstream within cross-functional development projects

• Ensure technical compliance, robustness, and readiness for volume production

• Plan and coordinate mechanical verification, testing, and reporting

• Support lifecycle management, quality issues, and continuous product improvement

Who You Are

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Precision Engineering (FH or higher)

• Several years of experience in developing complex plastic injection-molded components; experience with gears or flow parts is a plus

• Strong project management skills and familiarity with manufacturing technologies and supplier collaboration

• Expert user of 3D CAD (e.g., Siemens NX), with FEM simulation experience and ISO-GPS/UL standards knowledge

• Proven track record in mechanical quality, DFM, robustness, and tolerance analysis for high-volume products

• Hands-on mindset, strong leadership, and excellent communication across disciplines

• Fluent in English; German skills are highly desirable

• Ideally, experience in industrial manufacturing, risk management (DFMEA/PFMEA), and PLM systems (e.g., SAP)
