Introduction

Join us as an Embedded Security Verification Engineer and play a key role in securing next-generation embedded and IoT products. You will lead security testing, identify vulnerabilities, and build automated validation solutions for ARM-based firmware platforms while collaborating across development and security teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, document, and lead security testing campaigns for embedded products.
  • Perform security assessments, penetration testing, threat modeling, and security reviews.
  • Validate critical security features such as Secure Boot, Secure Update, Secure Storage, and communication protocols.
  • Identify and analyze vulnerabilities in firmware, communication stacks, and embedded systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated security testing and validation frameworks.
  • Coordinate external development partners and take ownership of selected deliverables.
  • Support firmware releases, maintenance activities, and security compliance requirements.
  • Investigate reported security defects and contribute to vulnerability remediation efforts.

Required Expertise

  • BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field; cybersecurity certifications are also valued.
  • Experience with cybersecurity-focused embedded systems and secure firmware architectures.
  • Hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing of communication stacks (REST APIs, HTTP, Modbus, BACnet, etc.).
  • Knowledge of secure embedded technologies including Secure Boot, Secure Update, TrustedFirmware-M, and secure storage concepts.
  • Strong programming skills in Embedded C++ and Python.
  • Understanding of cryptography fundamentals, including encryption, digital signatures, PKI, and key management.
  • Experience with RTOS environments, network protocols, industrial field buses, and test automation tools such as Robot Framework.
  • Fluent English communication skills; German is a plus.
