In this key role, you will act as the central sparring partner for all financial matters related to R&D, innovation projects, investment management, and strategic portfolio management - with direct impact on the future viability of our company.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze and steer the financial performance of the Innovation Division and initiate targeted measures to capitalize on opportunities early and mitigate risks
  • Own reporting, forecasting, budget planning, and investment controlling within the R&D and innovation areas
  • Prepare business cases, financial models, and scenario analyses, and monitor project and development costs
  • Provide professional sparring to project leaders and the Innovation Management Team while ensuring knowledge transfer
  • Coordinate reporting requirements with the BI team and support tool enhancements and rollouts (e.g., Sciforma, SAP)
  • Communicate confidently with internal stakeholders from R&D, Technology, IT, Product Management, as well as external auditors, and represent the Finance function in innovation committees
  • Ensure smooth processes such as month-end closing, capitalizations, portfolio management, and compliance requirements
  • Actively contribute to organizational development by translating innovation strategies and project portfolios into financial planning

Who You Are

  • Several years of experience in Controlling, ideally in an innovation, technology, or R&D environment
  • Expert in Accounting & Controlling, ideally with a university or technical college degree (FH/HF)
  • Proficient in SAP FI/CO and experienced with Excel and BI tools
  • Strong analytical capabilities, entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication skills, and service orientation
  • A managerial personality with strong presence at senior leadership level, confident in collaborating with project leaders
  • Experienced in handling sensitive data and solution-oriented even in complex situations
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel (<10%)
