Summary
The IT Support Representative provides on-site hardware and application support for the Sparks, Nevada office, as well as remote support for employees as needed. A key responsibility of this role is supporting production team members with equipment deployment, setup, and migration as part of the transition from an existing facility to a new construction building. This position assists with integrating and validating IT equipment at the new site.
The IT Support Representative collaborates closely with team members in Danbury, CT, including the IT Infrastructure team and the IT Americas Service Desk.
This role supports end users by resolving IT-related issues, verifying network connectivity at the patch panel and switch level, and coordinating with the networking team when necessary. Responsibilities include software installation, hardware configuration, workstation setup (desktops, monitors, docking stations), computer imaging, printer support, and troubleshooting application-related issues.
What You'll Do
- Respond promptly to help desk tickets for Danbury, Brazil, Canada, and Mobile Sales users.
- Provide first-level support for standard IT-related issues; escalate unresolved issues as needed.
- Support end users with laptop imaging, software installation, system configuration, troubleshooting, ticket routing, and escalation.
- Provide hardware support and perform basic troubleshooting to ensure employees can perform job duties effectively.
- Deploy computers and software using the Empirum software distribution platform.
- Work closely with production personnel to support production-related IT equipment and workstation needs.
- Understand VLAN network segmentation in the Danbury office and ensure equipment is connected to the appropriate network.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting and coordinate with the network team as required.
- Configure, test, document, and ship systems; provide post-shipment support as needed.
- Collaborate with the Systems and Network Administrator on IT issues and projects.
- Manage printer support, including maintenance coordination and service requests.
- Install workstations and docking stations, test network connectivity, and relocate IT equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate IT equipment inventory.
- Cross-train on IT functions to ensure continuity and coverage for critical business needs.
- Document troubleshooting steps thoroughly and provide detailed escalation notes when required.
Who You Are
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and Microsoft Windows 11.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Familiarity with networking hardware and concepts (preferred).
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, with patience when assisting end users.
